Paws for the Cause is a Toronto-based, non-profit organization that raises money for the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust Fund and the Paws for the Cause scholarship. The Paws for the Cause committee is spearheaded by founder Laura Serra (The Globe and Mail) and co-chair Paul Smith (Harry Rosen), and includes notable members of Toronto’s fashion, design and marketing communities. In a bark, they’re about dogs – and dog-lovers – helping dogs. pawsforthecause.ca
“Local celebrities (clothed by Philip Sparks) escorted their cute-as-hell dogs (clothed by Babies & Beasts) down the catwalk at Airship 37, to raise money Ontario Veterinary College’s Pet Trust Fund. The gala boasted fancy treats (in dog bowls), fancy champagne (in human glasses), and a whole lot of fashionable dog-loving folk.”http://fora.mtv.ca/2011/10/dogs-on-the-catwalk/
The lead sponsor Fido created a giant dog house for guests to walk through.
“First we ahhhhd at the prancing pups and then we ohhhd at the fall fashion on models like FLARE’s Mosha Lundstrom Halbert, Hoxton’s Richard Lambert and MTV’s Aliya-Jasmine Sovani. Taking notes from the catwalk, it’s obvious that the trend for right now is definitely a dignified English fox hunt look (for people) and the trendy dog is clearly the astute French Bulldog.” http://www.shedoesthecity.com
Paws raised $75,000 dollars this year for the Ontario Veterinary College Pet Trust Friend.
