What are some of the qualities of Stephanie and Pat’s wedding album you are the happiest about?

I am happiest about being able to capture all the candid moments throughout the entire day.

You created dynamic perspectives of all the key moments throughout the day, which created a fantastic range of the specific mood and experience of the day. What are some of the ways you accomplish this so effectively?

Experience comes in handy when it comes to anticipating moments throughout the day. The best advice I received is to always be present in the moment with the people there. Details are also important. Capturing the decor, the setting, the environment are all part of storytelling.

How did you align yourself with your couples priorities for their day and how they wanted the album to express their style and personalities?

Communication is always key. Setting your own expectations and understanding the couple’s expectations are important. A big part of our job is also building relationships. Getting to know your clients personally is one of the most important aspects. Without the trust, it is hard to tell the couple’s story.

As much as a wedding day album archives the love story of the couple, you have expressed how it can work to capture the precious moments of each family member as a very significant thing to have as not all families regularly document themselves. Can you elaborate on this?

Every friend and family member who are present at a couple’s wedding are there for good reason. They’ve been specially chosen to attend one of the most important events of the couple’s lives. I believe that couples want to remember everyone who was there. Their guests are the most important on their wedding day. Capturing the moments the guests share with the couple are life long memories that they’d want to hold forever.

You range so effectively between cinematic, editorial style portraits and spontaneous candid captures. How do you keep such a dynamic range in mind as a goal?

As a photographer, there are many different elements and styles of photography that inspire us. I try to capture what I think is beautiful and what the couple would appreciate. I’ve been able to incorporate all these things because my couples trust my creative process. I want to make sure that all those who view the album will be moved each time they see it.
